I have unfortunately locked the access to registry. When I run Regedit, I get the message "Registry access denied. Ask the Administrator".

The problem is that I am the administrator (beginner) and I don't know how to restore this access (Group policy).

Actual config. is: Win2K server SP4, no domain active. no external network connexion.

Thanks for help.

Start
Run
"gpedit.msc" no quotes
Enter
Expand User Configuration (should already be expanded)
Expand Admin Templates
Expand System
"Prevent access to registry editing tools"

You know, sometimes I just guess in the 2k groups? *grins* I can't always
remember the differences between 2k and XP as per GPO options. So even if it
sounds great you might wanna double check and make sure it works and, if
not, let us know.

Okay, so really I checked that one and it was 2k+ but I did check it on XP
Pro. ;)
