Hi, is there such a thing as regionalware?
That is, a program that is freeware in one
locale, but not free in another. Seems to me
that this should be considered as being freeware, and
I am considering doing this with one or more of my
applications. Maybe it would fall under the category
of causeware since the "cause" is to prevent use
in one or more locales. Not really sure.

Not exactly dependent of region but of language is 'Table' by the Grigory

While the English version is shareware you can use the Russian for free.
I think I've come across other such programs before, but can't remember
any. (At the moment.)

Hi,Dos-Man,
I believe AVG Anti-virus from Grisoft was once only free in parts of
the world. I think it was still considered freeware by many folks.

IIRC there was a fair amount of discussion about whether it was or was
not freeware. A search of the archives would probably give Dos-Man a
good idea of the pro/con arguments regarding "regional freeware".

I will do some searching after my PC is back up and running.
My motherboard appears dead :(

I believe that localeware should be considered freeware because
anyone can use it so long as they use it in the correct locale.
