Flightdisc

Hello all,

Before I installed and ran RegCure my two computers had no problem sharing
and connecting to each other. After running RegCure, the two computers can
see each other but I cannot access files between the two. I get "Request
timed out" when I try to ping either one. I get the following error message
when trying to connect to either computer:

The network path was not found

1. Drives on both systems still show the shared icons.
2. File sharing is enabled in firewall and Simple File Sharing turned off.
3. Full permissions enabled on both systems.
4. No passwords on either system.
5. Limit local account use of blank passwords enabled on both.
6. DNS client enabled on both
7. Netbios over TCP/IP enabled on both
8. Applied Winsocks fix 1.2

Don't know what else to try at this point. I'll use Registry Mechanic from
now on, no more RegCure for me.

PaulM, JS,

Many apologies for my initial post in blaming RegCure. Turns out it was
Kaspersky Internet Security that was the culprit. In Kaspersky's (System
Security, Firewall) section you have to place your network into Kaspersky's
(Trusted Zone). This must done with each computer that is running KIS, then
file sharing will be restored.

So, for anyone reading this post that ever gets the error message (The
network path was not found), the first place to look is either your Firewall
software or Antivirus software. Had I known this it would have saved me lots
of time and grief. One consolation though is Kaspersky really protects your
network and other things as I have discovered.

A big thanks to you both for responding to my post :-)
