Tell us which mail support mode of Outlook 2000 you are using.
Tell us which Contacts Folder(s) you have configured the Outlook Address

Outlook 2000 exists as two completely different programs: Internet Mail Only
or Corporate/Workgroup.
If you don't know which you're using, look in Help | About.

Right-click the contacts foler, choose the properties tab, and make sur
that "show as email address book" is checked. Then you will be able t
see it when you go to a new email and choose "TO".

I have basically the same question about Outlook 2002
In the Display as: box I see contact name and email in parens
In the email To: box I see usually a single punctuation character
If I edit the Display as: box to contain only the email address, as in the
box above it everything works fine..
As I input the data from a csv file, I don't want to edit every address ..
any ideas?

I am using XP home edition SP". with Outlook 2000. I have totally lost the
whole of my diary. The old icon on my desk top has disappeared and been
replaced by an Office 2003 icon. When I click on to it I am invited to
install Office Outlook 2003 and to enter the product code from the CD rom. My
PC came preloaded with Office 2003 trial offer which I did not take up
because I have an Office 2000 CD which is more than adequate for my needs.
Any ideas how I can recover my diary?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.

What you describe doesn't make sense to me. If you were using Office 2000
before on your PC, even if it had the Office 2003 trial installed, there's
no way I know for Office 2003 to "all of a sudden" replace the desktop icon
and start asking for a product code.

If you want to use Office 2000, uninstrall the 2003 trial and install 2000.
It's not that difficult. Moreover, if you had Outlook 2000 operational
before, you should be able to configure it to use the existing Personal
Folders file (PST), which will restore all your Outlook data.
