Are you referring to an AMD Athlon 64 processor (or, a member of that
family)?
If so, I can tell you that Microsoft products, Win 2000, Win XP, Win 2003
Server, Visual Studio in all flavors, both production and beta, etc. and all
Java SDK, etc. will have no problems. Can't speak for Oracle, especially
after the "not compatible with Pentium IV" fiasco for the Oracle 8i database
a few years back.

I run A64 CPU's here at home with all products mentioned above on my home
office machine. I am not, however (for what I hope are obvious reasons, i.e.
not putting beta software on a production machine), running the Win XP 64
beta OS.

If you're considering a CPU from a different vendor, I have no idea what you
might run into.
