I saved my registry viv regedit, after a fresh install.

Is their anyway from the cmd line to copy the one I saved over the top of
the working registry.

Does anyone know the name of xp's registry file...? Or is it multi files...?

Yes, if you really want to render the new installation unusable. Is
that your goal?

The WinXP registry can be found in C:\Windows\System32\Config\.
It'll be divided into several data files, such as Security, Software,
and System. The user-specific portion of the registry is stored in each
user profile, in a file named NTUser.dat.

Thanks for the reply. The new install is already unusable.

Fresh install.
Updated media player.
Upon reboot, no dvd
Repair install just loops wanting a file called ASAMs.
Safe mode won't work in setup mode, and can't get out of setup mode cause it
wants ASAM but that don't exist.

Going to pull HD and put into another machine as slave and get what I need.

maybe you need to use System Restore.
Find the oldest restore point and restore to it.

Thanks Paul, One of the first things I tried. I will have to reinstall.
Won't matter much as I have not reinstalled much. Later on.
