Hi

The XP Registry is left well alone - let it configure itself without any interference from a 3rd party program.

The link you provided does not have the free version available. The free
version may still be obtained at;

http://www.pricelessware.org/2003/PL2003SYSTEMUTILITIES.htm#J109

It is an older version, but provides most, if not all, of the fundamentals.

Greetings --

Having seen the results of inexperienced people using automated
registry "cleaners," I can only advise to you to avoid them all.

The only thing needed to safely clean your registry is knowledge
and Regedit.exe. If you lack the knowledge and experience to maintain
your registry by yourself, you also lack the knowledge and experience
to safely configure and use any automated registry cleaner, no matter
how safe they claim to be.

Thanks Bruce,
Tells me all I need to know. " Stupid is as Stupid does ". Guess I'd better
delete all those Registry cleaner freebies from my favorites folder, just in
case I have a sudden lapse of brain function and try to use use one of
them. No, I'm not trying to be a smart a** . Until now I about half believed
they operate as advertised. Glad there is someone knowledgeable to save me
from doing things about which I have no clue.

Thanks to everyone for their input, i will take a look at all the
programs mentioned. When i un install any software i also run regedit
and do a search for any registry entries that might be left over, so i
do have the knowledge to do that. I thought that a software solution
might do some extra processes that i was un aware of.Thanks to everyone
again.
