Refreshing a query

How do you refresh a query? DoCmd.OpenQuery just opens it, I want to refresh it. The query has a where clause that refers to a box on a form, and whenI change the value in the form I want to refresh the query results. The DoCmd.Requery command seems to want a control and not a query.
