Refresh data causes reference errors?

Hi. I have a bunch of cell references to a sheet called "loadsdata" in my workbook. The LoadsData sheet is populated from an external worksheet. When I used "Refresh Data" to refresh the data from the external worksheet, all the references I had to the LoadsData worksheet breaks with #REF errors. I thought of using INDIRECT to work around it, but it just seems to be that there should be a better way. Help?
