Refresh button not working!

I thought the refresh button was supposed to do this!

How can I force the browser to go out to the web to get
new content. We brought up new content and some machines
are finding it ok. A few however, still point to the old
content even though it is not even on the web server
anymore. I tried to Delete Files on the suspect machines,
as well as delete the cookies.

I am perplexed! It might be easier if none of the
machines worked, but that is not the case.

The refresh button works in tandem with settings under tools \
internet options \ general tab \ temp.internet files \ settings.
"Check for newer versions of stored pages." If this is set for never,
then refresh will only bring up a stored page (can be countermanded by
holding down the control key while clicking refresh).

Incidentally, if material is still on your machines after it is gone
from the website, then perhaps you need to empty your temporary
internet files more often, including offline content.
