Hi Scott,
Put the system in a clean boot state and then try installing MC Afee program
To do the above click on
start-run-(type in )msconfig-ok, this opens up the System Configuration
Utility
Under the General tab click on the selective startup, uncheck the
System.ini, win.ini and the startup entries. Next click on the service tab on
the top, at the bottom of the window place a check mark where it says " Hide
all microsoft Services" and then click on "disable all" . Next click on APPLY
and then OK
It will promp you to restart the computer go ahead with it. Once restarted
you will get a message that a modification has been made by the sys config
utility, close this message .Now the comp is in a clean boot state. Go ahead
and try and installing the Mc Afee Program. If the installation successfully
completes then you could go back to the syst config utility and change the
startup selection to normal.
GOOD Luck with that!
