I would like to reformat my computer so that all i have is
just the windows 2k opersting system on it so that I can
get rid of all the rubbish i have installed over the last
year.
I have two hardrives the C: drive is 10Gb and only has the
operating system and any windows updates and patches
installed and the 2nd drive is 40Gb which i have installed
various programs and files etc.

I am unsure how to go about reformatting with win 2k as i
have been told it is different to how i used to do it
under win 98. I want to clear both drives but am unsure on
how to reformat. I know the Win 2k CD is bootable but what
do I do next, is there a certain way to do it such as over
writing my existing drives. I have backed up and saved
files and downloaded software updates ready to be
reinstalled but i am unsure what to do next.

Any help would be most appreciated

Hi!

For most computers, booting the Windows 2000 CD is the way to go. When the
CD boots up, the Windows 2000 setup program will start automatically. At
some point during the setup process, you will have the option to repartition
and reformat your hard drives. It will be that easy.
I have backed up and saved

If you don't want any of the thingson either drive, just boot the Windows
2000 CD and follow the directions. You will come to a point where you can
erase the hard disks.
