I can not find any instructions on how to reformat your
harddrive when you are using Windows 2000. I have
instructions for W98 and to make a backup disc using a
floppy. But those instructions do not correlate with W2k
because accessing the A dirve does not give me the same
options.

What do I do?

If you are sure you want to replace your o/s you will
reformat when re-installing win 2000. you need to boot
from your 2000 cd. you may need to change your bios to
make the cd your 1st boot device. when you get to the
screen where it asks where to install win 2000 it will
show you your current c: partition. you will have an
option to delete this partition. after three warnings it
will delete the partition and ask again where to install
win 2000. choose the unpartition space and accept the
suggested partition size (unless you want other
partitions) chooses ntfs or fat32 (ntfs recommended) it
will then format and install the o/s
