I have a disk partitioned into C (Windows 2000 installed
into this drive), with E and F drives as extended
partitions. I now want to entirely start from scratch by
reformatting the whole disk and removing the extended
partitions. I wnat to end up with just a C drive
completely reformatted. How do I go about doing this
please?

You can try the following:

1. Set bios to boot from CD
2. Put win2K install CD in a start computer
3. Pretend to do a fresh install.
4. When prompted, select all partitions to be deleted.
5. When this is done, quit win2K setup.
6. Restart computer and do a real fresh install.

Hope this helps.
