Reformat win xp pro sp2

i am trying to reformat my hard drive and reinstall win xp pro but for some
reason i cant. here is the problem. when i boot from cd everything seems to
go right untill it says press enter to run xp, R to recover and F3 to quit or
something like that. whenever i press enter to continue i get a message
saying "SETUP DID NOT FIND ANY HARD DISK DRIVES INSTALLED IN YOUR COMPUTER"
but they are plugged in and i can here them running. what do i do please
help. oh and i have an OEM version if that helps

Is your hard drive SATA? If so, you probably need to install SATA drivers
from a floppy during early stages of the install process to get Windows XP

how could it not know the hard drives are there i am using the computer that
i want to reformat to type this
