reformat hard drive???

I have had loads of trouble with ad/spy ware i've tried
free soft ware and can't get rid of it. I thihk i need to
reformat my hard drive but dont know how. Any help would
be most welcome

hold F8 and turn on your computer, and youll have a list
of choices. pick the one that says "command promt" in the
command prompt type "format c:" (with out the quotes of
course) then press enter. it will ask if your sure, if you
are, type "Y" and enter agian. there ya go a nice clean
hard drive.
finally insert your windows install disc and follow along
with the directions
 
hi, do you have the original xp cd ? if yes just go thru
the process of reinstalling,and xp will ask if you wish
to format the drive, pick your c: drive if you have more
than one.
 
That's not good advice to Format the C drive. What if he has a dual boot
system and Win 98 is on C Drive !!

.i tried what you said only when i typed y and enter it

came back with format cannot because volume is in use by
another process. do you want to force something or other
i hit the y or the n and ijust goes back to before i
typed in format see. Any Ideas?

There's no need for such a dramatic measure.

Simply go to www.download.com. Do a search for Spybot - Search and Destroy.
It's a freeware.
However, it is a powerful tool that removes most known spyware.

U DO NOT NEED TO FORMAT HARD DRIVE BECAUSE OF SPYWARE

DO NOT DO IT

GO ONLINE AND SEARCH FOR SPY BOT SEARCH AND DESTROY

OR SYSTEM MECHANIC 4


SPYBOT WORKS BETTER USE THESE TOOLS TO CLEAN UP ADWARE
