I'm a registered owner of Windows XP Pro and have it
running on my system.

Problem : I like to reformat my primary hard drive every
year and a half or so to clean out all the junk and start
all over. Force of habit!

My question : I realize XP will have to be actived again -
will I be able to reactive my copy of XP once it is
reinstalled on my system.

Thank You.

Greetings --

There's no limit to the number of times you can reinstall and
activate the same WinXP license on the same PC. If it's been more
than 120 days since you last activated that specific Product Key,
you'll most likely be able to activate via the Internet without
problem. If it's been less, you might have to make a 5 minute phone
call.

Here are the facts pertaining to activation:

Unless there have been significant hardware changes, the process is the same
as the initial install. If there have been significant hardware changes,
you may be forced to called MS; when you attempt to activate via the
Internet, you will given the number which is a toll free number.
