Win 2K is just newly loaded onto a P3 733. This is a full install over
previous Win 98. Want to know how to get to MS Dos to do a Format C: if I
need to. Thanks.

The Win2K Setup will allow you to reformat your c-drive, you don't need
to do it from dos. Plus it will allow you to format ntfs rather than fat.

Just remember to shutdown the install after the reformat and then
re-start it to avoid unexpected drive letter assignments.

How do I get to the win 2k setup? Thanks.

Are you suggesting that a Win 98 startup disk be used? What do you mean boot
from DOS floppy? Thanks.

I'm assuming, from your original message, that you want to do a fresh
install of win2k on your c-drive, reformatting that drive and
overwriting any data or operating system it currently contains.

Put the Win2K into your cdrom drive and reboot the computer. It should
boot to the cd (you might get a message asking you to press a key to
boot to cd). Setup will start and ask you if you want to install win2k.
Answer yes and the install will proceed.

At some point it will show you your current hard drive partitions.
Select the c-partition and then select format the partition. When the
format is finished, ABORT THE INSTALL and reboot. Then start the setup
process again and this time select the c partition and install to it.

Dave Patrick, if he's reading this, might be kind enough to post his
standard instructions for this which are far better and more exhaustive
then what I can come up with off the top of my head.

Just google "MS-DOS download". But like someone suggested,
you can boot from your orig. Win2k CD and choose to format C
drive from there.
