I'm planning on getting a 9100 in the near future but I'm also putting
some thought in to refilling options, and most likely a continuous
inking system. Obviously I'll ensure I use reputable ink supplier and
ink specified for the 9100, but there's still that nagging doubt in
the back of my mind that maybe the ink might not be adequate for the
smaller nozzle of the 9100, and maybe I should consider the 9000? Due
to the quantity of prints that I'm about to run off - over 1000 pics
on to around 400 sheets of A4, I won't consider any suggestions to
stick with Canon cartridges. Would the 9000 be a safer option, and is
there any noticeable real-world difference between it and the 9100?

I believe the jets on my i950 are the same size as the jets on a 9100.
So far I have put EXACTLY 1 pint of refill ink thru the Photo-cyan and
the Photo-Magenta nozzles and havent had a problem (or a clog).

Im pretty sure the head specs and droplet size are the same i950/9100

There is no such thing as a "universal refill" so be careful who you buy
your ink from. (I use and recommend www.inksupply.com)

I too think the 950 and 9100 jets are the same, so I'm pleased to hear
that you've had no problems. I'll make sure I get ink that's specified
for these 2 printers as well. I never intended getting a generic ink.
I can't use your nominated supplier as I'm UK resident, but I have Jet
Tec over here in mind. Thanks.

I'm using the weink.com continuous reinking system with their inks.
Works beacutifully. So far I've run through about 250ml of black and
125ml of each color. Their ink is slightly more expensive than some of
the other OEM, about $30/16oz/500ml versus $22.50-$25 from others for
same quantity.

www.selectafont.co.uk are reliable and supply good inks.
I've been buying cartridges and refill inks from them for over a year
without any problems at all.
