Hello,

THis might be a daft question, but I can't find the answer anywhere.

I have a spreadsheet set up with various references and functions, some
just cell references, others SUM functions etc, and it works fine with
the results of the functions being displayed in each cell.
However, whenever I try to make a change to any of these
references/functions, the cell now displays the function itself, as if
it were text.

e.g. changing a simple =C21 (which currently displays 0) to =C20,
causes the cell to display '=C20'.

I've tried using F2 to change it, I've tried copying it to another cell
and changing it and copying it back. I've even tried doing it really
slowly, or coming in early when Excel might still be asleep, but to
Noah Vale.

Any hep here would be hot, as the most annoying cartoon character in
history might say.

Ta.

Hi
your cells are probably formated as 'Text'. Try the following: prior to
changing the cell goto 'format - Cells' and change the format to
'General'
