I have Windows XP Media Center Edition installed on my Laptop with 80 GB HDD
& 512 MB RAM.

Internet Explorer 7beta 3 is installed. All was working perfectly along with
IE7beta 3. Suddenly once day IE starts giving error.

Whenever I close IE, it closes and give error like :

The instruction at "0x6c371351" referenced memory at 0x00000004". The memory
could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

It has only one option of OK.

Is it problem with RAM or HDD or IE7 has corrupted ?

Similar problem is also coming on my another PC running Windows 2000
Advanced Server. Here it comes on closing on some application which is using
MS SQL.

Can any one help me to digonosis this problem.

Hi,
It's likely that another program is causing this- possibly legitimate-
possibly malware.

[XP SP2] From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Disable add-ons one at a time to
see if one of them is the culprit.

Disable (for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers,
security, toolbars and other add-ons for IE, anti-virus, etc. Take a look at
any program that might be interfering with IE. You may have to reconfigure,
update, reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

* Important... Turn on the Windows Firewall (from Control Panel or Security
Center) before disabling a third-party firewall.

Looks as if you have disabled Error Reporting Tool then?

Is it problem with RAM or HDD or IE7 has corrupted ?

Not likely. As Don explained it is probably due to incompatible programs.

Do you at least have a drwtsn32.log which captures this incident?
E.g. look for a line which starts with FAULT -> 6c371351 (if using
an English version of Windows) and look at that thread's Stack Back Trace.
Or perhaps you have disabled that too?

Alternatively, use Process Explorer and try to find out what is normally
loaded at 0x6C370000 with iexplore.exe.
