VS 2008 Team Suite.

I just noticed that VB doesn't include the nifty little "Generate Method
Stub" functionality that C# has. Am I missing something or shall I start
kissing up to the boss and get him to order me ReSharper?

Thanks,

Seth Rowe [MVP]

Hey Seth,

Check the RefactorPro trial out http://www.devexpress.com/Downloads/NET/IDETools/Refactor/.

And swing by the IDE Tools forums over at http://community.devexpress.com/forums/default.aspx?GroupID=18

I'll be glad to help out if you decide to go this route. Also when you decide
you're ready to create your own refactorings :P

I guess it's possible I'm imagining it, but I thought I heard somewhere that
DevExpress did some kind of deal to get MVPs a free copy of Coderush (Which
includes RefactorPro)

If this info is correct then it's also quite old, but I have this back of
my mind idea that they did some kind of promotional deal.

Can't remember, I'll look into it.

Well what d'ya know... I was right

Mark Miller (Creator of CodeRush etc) just confirmed...

"Yep, all MVPs get full access to everything .NET that we make. Have Seth
contact me and I'll get him hooked up."

That would be MarkMiller[at][DevExpress][Guesswhatgoeshere][com]

So skip the trial and come play for free with the full version of RefactorPro/Coderush
and everything else :)

You are the man Rory!

(Quickly puts Rory on his personal Hero of the Month list)

I'll give Mark a shout and get set up, that is really, really nice!

Thanks,

The downside is that everyone elses machine bar yours just became unusable.

Really?

So does CodeRush / RefactorPro include things into the project files
that will cause the other developers to not be able to use it?

Thanks,

Oops... No... sorry didn't mean to imply that. :)

I just meant that you're not going to want to use a copy of studio which
doesn't have CR/RefactorPro installed

It's kind of addictive :)

LOL! - you had me worried for a bit!

I've already decided that I'll have to convince the department manager
to purchase licenses for the other developers. I'm not sure how that
will work out, but I hate being the only person with all the cool
toys!

Oh, and since we're so close to next month I'll go ahead and add you
to July's personal hero list as well :-)

Thanks,

Hey Rory,

Are you sure about this email address:
MarkMiller[at][DevExpress][Guesswhatgoeshere][com]

I get an undeliverable bounce back when I tried it. I already resent
it to their support email address, but now I'm sorta curious what the
correct email was.

Thanks,

For the benefit of other MVP's who might come across this thread, (I've already
talked to Seth offline) that should have been MarkM not MarkMiller.

Oops... still it'll give the bots hell trying to work out his address :p
