I use this printer only to print a few pages a day.
I turn it on almost every day. When I turn it on it seems to go
through its rather extensive nozzle cleaning routine.
The problem is that it seems to use a lots of ink for those cleaning
routines and is emptying my cartridges even that I do not print a lot.
Is this the way this printer is supposed to work?
Is there a way to stop it from using that much ink for cleaning
nozzles?
Thanks,
Nathan

I'm afraid, that's normal with photo printers, given their small size of
nozzles. If there were no auto cleaning cycles, you would spend much more
ink on a thorougly blocked nozzle block. If you don't print any photo
quality, you'd probably be better of with a different printer.

Leave it switched on all the time.

Leaving it on causes it to use more ink. Before it goes to print it will
run a cleaning cycle. The longer it is left on the longer the cycle will
be. To save ink keep it off until you need to print.

Absolutely NOT!! This can lead to clogging.
