I have created three full page pictures combining
portions of clip art and grouping them as one unit. I
would like to make the pictures proportionately smaller
so they will fit on one page. The pictures include text
boxes with words in them so simply reducing the pictures
means I have to change the font in every box. I tried
creating a text box, cutting the picture and pasting it
into the text box. The picture then turned to a frame
inside a text box which servers my purpose well but only
half the picture showed up. How can I get the whole
picture to show up?
Your help is greatly need and appreciated.

Thanks for the try Ann but I'm stuck with the drawings I
have now. If I could only get the whole picture to show
up when I paste it in the text box my problem would be
solved. Any ideas on why only part of the picture shows
up?

Hi, Joan!
When using drawings in a document, I strongly recommend
creating the drawings in a PowerPoint file (a Word file
will do tho), and keep them all stored separately there.
When you're done creating a picture, group it (as you
have done), then copy it to your *real* document and hit
Edit-Paste special-As a picture (JPG is best, I think).
Then, you can resize it all you want, but still have an
*original* drawing that you can change if necessary (and
repaste).

Why are you pasting them into a text box? It seems it would be best t
paste the pictures onto the page, then place text boxes over th
pictures with no lines or fill?

It's hard to tell, without looking at what you're doing, of course

I really appreciate your efforts to help. Unfortunately
none of the suggestions worked but Charles' response made
me aware that the problem may be in having grouped a
text box with a drawing object. I know you cannot paste a
drawing object into a textbox but. I have taken the
grouped unit and pasted it into a textbox before and it
worked - the grouped unit converted itself to a frame
within a textbox. It still works the problem is that only
half the picture shows up. How do I get the whole
picture to show? ( This is great for resizing a graphic
which contains a picture and text without having to go in
an resize the font separately)
This is the last time I will labour the issue. Thanks for
any assistance.
