I'm new here, but it seemed like the place to ask. Almost all the pages that
I click-on automatically opens to only half/reduced size. Then, I have to
click once more to get a normal full page. Do I have an incorrect setting
somewhere that is causing this? It is a little inconvenient. I was told on
another ng that if I held the Ctrl key down as I exited the page, it would
remember the page size and open full. I tried that and it hasn't worked yet!
It's the first time I remember having this problem for the last 2 months
now.

I'm running Win XP Home w/ 512 RAM. Thanks anyone?

With 'one' page open ... instead of clicking on the maximise button - put
your cursor on the corner of the page & drag it to the size you want, then
use file > close. This should remember the settings for next time

Thanks Krooz! It will drag to full size, but if I stretch by dragging the
reduced size page to full size, then it becomes the same as the maximize
page button. A lot of times I need to use the reduced size window for
dragging and dropping. I also like the default as maximize. Any other
options?

Sorry, did I misunderstand your original post? I thought you were asking for
a way to set the default page size.
By dragging you can set it to the size you want - full screen or half,
whatever. I don't think you can have more than one default.
Perhaps someone else can offer another suggestion?

Sorry my explanation wasn't clear enough, Krooz. What I want is the full
sceen to open as the default screen with the first 2 clicks. Then, if I have
a need to do so, I can click it down to the half screen from the upper right
corner. Presently it is working just the opposite. I get the half screen
with the first 2 clicks, then I must click the upper right corner the get
the full screen.

Internet Explorer will remember the sizes for two different windows:

The main window: the one you open from the system provided IE shortcuts.
Most people set this window to Maximize.

Any secondary windows: IE windows that open when you use "open in new
window" or click an URL in email. This is the one where the "maximize"
choice doesn't stick. Resize it manually to the dimensions you want.

One more caveat with IE windows: Be aware of the last window that you close
when leaving IE. "Last window closed" tends to become the size for the
secondary windows. If you don't stay on your toes, your resizing efforts
are zapped. If there are any popups or popunders around, close them first.
Once those are gone, then close the other windows.

This will keep the windows sizes where you want them for the longest
stretch of time. However, even being vigilant, the IE dimensions will shift
eventually and will have to be reset.

One more choice at your disposal: Create two shortcuts to IE. Go into the
properties of the shortcuts. Change Windows type to Normal in one and
Maximize in the other. Use the shortcut with the corresponding desired
dimensions when opening a new window.
