Redirection.. Not spyware

Ralph

I have a users notebook that they installed AT&T worldnet V7 software
on. Since that installation, if you click the homepage button you are
redirected to www.att.net for a search. You also get the same page
when you type in a URL that should be resolved by the Intranet DNS.

When the browser is launched it goes to the Intranet homepage
specified in Active Directory. It is also set under the options page
to the correct location (intranet site).

CAn anyone lead me to where I can look to see where it is getting this
information from? I have checked the HOSTS and LMHOSTS file and also
searched the registry for references to www.att.net with no luck.

ANy help is appreciated.

Thanks,

REB

- - - -
Click [Start] [Run] Type (or copy/paste) the following command and press
Enter
"Rundll32 IedkCS32.dll,BrandCleanInstallStubs"

That should reset
Toolbar images, Default Page URL, Window Title, Search Bar, customized
Search URL, customized Support URL in the Help menu, customized menu option
for WindowsUpdate [Tools menu].

You might also check startup programs. Is something from ATT being run with
each startup?

Hope this helps,
Don

Thanks,

The user is out of town for a few days so I will try it when he gets
back.

Don't think it's a start up issue. I used STARTUP.CPL to check to see
what is starting up. It is a pretty cool tool (and free) if you have
not see it:

I will let you know.
