Redirecting Outlook to a new location of PST files

We are planning to implement the "folder redirection" of user's My Documents
to a SAN for backup purposes. We have about 700+ users using Outlook 2007
with Exchange 2003.

Most if not all of our users have their PST files on subfolder(s) on their
My Documents. Is there a tool or script that can be used to point Outlook
to the new location of the PST files? Or is this going to be a manual
process?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

PST files are not designed to get slammed close when the connection is
lost over a network. The result can be a corrupted file. If you want
to backup the users' .pst files then implement a client-server
enterprise backup solution rather than trying to push their message
stores onto a networked host that does get backed up, or look into using
a mail server that keeps their mailbox backed up on the server host.

Rather than putting PST file on the Network, it can be a better idea
to keep PST file on local drive and use BackupMyfolder to backup PST
files on a share

Ensuring that Outlook is closed first....

I know that Microsoft doesn't support PST file on a share, but a lot
of user have their PST file on a share without problems.
Our recomendation is to keep the PST file on local drive and use
BackupMyFolder to backup the PST file on the share. This action can be
done with Outlook opened. BackupMyFolder! is designed for that
