Red X's on links?

B

Bruce

I go to this site, http://www.cmohs.org/ and on the left side where there
should be links, i.e. Medals/Full list, etc.
I get a box with a red x in it? I can right click on it and open it in a new
window and it will go there. (If I click on the box with the red x, it
doesn't do anything)
But, it won't show the left side links?
I went to a friends house and tried the site, and it worked fine. I emailed
the site and they said it opened fine in there browser.

I cleaned temp files and cookies, and still doesn't work?

thanks Bruce

Hi Bruce :)

I tried the links and while I did not see any Red X's, there were no links
showing at all, just empty while spaces where it looked like the links
should be>

However, try the following and see if it helps:

First - Do you have an accelerator supplied by your ISP? If so, try turning
it off.
It works by reducing image size (and therefor quality) for downloads.

Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE

1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low
2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low
3. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

Hi Bruce :)

Try the following and see if it works or not:

How to turn pictures on or off in webpages
http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/ie6/pictures.aspx

Also...you may have something installed or a setting that is blocking them.
If you have any 3rd party toolbars or popup blockers installed, such as
Google, Yahoo, disable them and see if that helps. If you have Yahoo
Companion, disable or uninstall it. Do you have McAfee AV? Check the
ActiveX and your Security settings to be sure you are not locking them out.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
I received an email from the webmaster. Apparently it was a java issue,
possibly got corrupted. He gave me a link and installed the lastest version.
Seems to work for now.

Sorry for the previous post.......seems my mouse has started the long
holiday weekend without me...<g>

You're very welcome! And I'm glad to hear you were able to resolve your
problem with the help of the Webmaster. They are often the best to ask at
times, and many are good about responding and providing assistance with
their site issues.

Thank you very much for posting back and letting us know what worked for
you, and for the benefit of other readers who might have a similar problem.
