Red "X" Puzzle...?

Howdy,

If I open "My Computer" I see a bunch of mapped network
drives and folders all with the dreaded Red "X."

But, if I click on any of them, the proper location opens,
and displays properly.

Some of the mapped links then lose their Red Xs, while
others keep them glaring at me angrily.

What are these icons telling me, and why do some change, and
others, not?

This may help, on the other hand if it's merely the "icon display" I
wouldn't get too excited about.

With your question, I now assume that it is nothing more
than an icon problem, and, of course, that is of no
consequence.
