I am assisting a customer running Office X on OS X for the
Mac. He has certain presentations that show a Red X in
place of graphics in the presentation. I view these fine
on my PC, my Mac OS X and classic 9 running office 2001.
The red X is usually a resource related issue, is there a
system setting that can resolve this on Mac os X?
TIA
George

George,
See if this entry from the PPT FAQ helps any:
Error: "Memory was too full to draw everything..." or Red X in PowerPoint
98/2001 Mac
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00424.htm
(That one says that Mac PPT X shouldn't have the problem, but might due to
not enough memory).

Another entry to read is this one:
RED X instead of graphics
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00064.htm
It has a lot of more general information about the problem.

Finally, the Mac newsgroup doesn't get as much traffic as this one, but it
does get its fair share. You might want to make sure you are checking the
right group. PPT FAQ entry to find the newsgroups:
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00024.htm
(FYI: The Mac PPT group is :
microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint )

Post back and let us know if either helps.
