Red x but no picture

When I open an html message from a company I'm sure is legitimate and has a
professional, well done newsletter, I can't get any pictures. Just the box
with a red x in the upper left corner.

know someone has asked this before, but I couldn't find it so thanks in
advance for the repeat information.
