Red Squares?

A mate of mine has something o on his computer that puts
solid red squares on top of web pages.The squares only
appear over text or graphics.So for example if he is on Ebay,
they cover the photos and descriptions,and if he is on google
they cover the google logo.
Any ideas?

Does this occur in all browsers? or just, for example in Internet Explorer?

Does that mean then that you have tried accessing pages in an
alternative browser and found the same results or that you have not yet
tried an alternative browser?
