I also have the problem of the red cross in the lefthand side of the photo
and I can't open it. They are jpg foto's. I made them myself, so they weren't
sent to me. First I could open them and then suddenly I couldn't anymore. As
far as I am aware I haven't changed any settings at all.
Does anyone have a suggestion for me please?

Are you trying to open them with Windows picture and fax viewer? Are the
photos blocked? Right Click on the file and go to Properties. It should tell
you what program they are associated with.

Hello jerryrock,

Thank you for your reply.
We have a panasonic digital camera with software which ables us to store
photo's in albums. That's where the photo's are stored. Now I am wondering
when the photo's are put in the album if they first go to c drive. I tried to
find them on c drive and I couldn't. If they where on there and we have
deleted them, could that maybe be the reason why we can't view them from the
album anymore?
I am sorry to bother you with this but we are new in this field and are
trying to learn as much as we can and we are probably doing that through
making a lot of mistakes.
Thanks again for your assistance

Normally your image files are saved in a folder
on your hard drive...My Pictures, for example.

I am not familiar with your Panasonic software...
but programs of the type that catalog your image
files will typically record the *path* to the files
and retain a copy of the thumbnail. This means
if you deleted the files from the original location
because you thought they were *safe* in your
album...they may be gone.

You could go to...Start / Search...and try searching
for .jpg ...and it's possible that the files may still
be in your recycle bin.
