I installed the latest Windows update today and when I
restarted my PC, the colour red is missing. Is this a
software problem - motherboard - monitor ?????? I assume
it had something to do with the download but I just do not
know. When I play my card games - all the cards are
black - not fun! The icon for MS Hearts on my desktop is
a murky green.. All the rest of the colours seem fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Probably a coincidence. Verify that the monitor cable is firmly seated at
both ends.

Be sure that no strong magnetic fields are near the monitor.

Press the DEGAUSS button on the monitor, or invoke that function via the
monitor menu.

You could try setting all of your video settings to the software default,
and also checking your monitor's cable connection and reinstalling your
video drivers, but the problem you describe usually happens when one of your
monitor's color guns die. If possible, try connecting the monitor to another
computer with another the cable. If nothing changes, then it's probably time
to buy a new monitor.

I can't believe it - the cable was loose at the PC end.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out..
You just saved me a trip to the computer store!
