Recycling bin - original icon vanished

Windows XP Home - icon for recycling bin vanished, and was replaced with a generic static one after uninstalling ( with some difficulty) Norton Internet Security package

Any suggestion on how to get the full/MT icon back

If Norton's Protected Bin was included in that package, it may have damaged
the Recycle Bin. There is a fix on the following page for restoring the
Recycle Bin to the desktop: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/xp_fixes.html

Also, Display Properties> Desktop> Customize Desktop brings up a screen
where you can select the full/empty icons for the bin.
