Recycler Folder

I scanned my system and Norton identified files that were a threat. I
clicked on them to delete them but got a message that Norton was unble to
delete them. I clicke on the files and they were all in the C:Recyclers
foder. I tried to look for the folder but couldn't find it, even after
enabling view hidden files in my folder options. Anyone know how to access
this Recycler folder?

Right click the Recycle Bin on the Desktop | Empty Recycle Bin

That's because you have the name and path wrong.

Start | Run | Type or paste:

C:\RECYCLER

Click OK or hit the ENTER key.

If you double click the file in the right hand pane you should see something
like>>>

C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-1708537768-1580436667-1202660629-1003

Hi JC,

Tools>Folder Options>View tab
Scroll down to and uncheck the Hide protected operating system files
(Recommended)", and click on Yes in the "are you sure?" dialogue box, click
on Apply then OK.

Yeah you have to turn off the Hide protected operating system tickbox.

You should then see a folder called drive:\RECYCLER with folders in it, this
is the Recycle Bin for the different users.

Hope that helps

It is the recycle bin for the separate accounts on the system. It will
contain a sub-folder for each user, with the files he/she has deleted,to
clear it of unwanted files, simply empty the Recycle Bin.

Thanks all, I can see the Recycler folder now but those files that Norton
identified as threats were there, or I couldn't see them. dc3.dll, dc4.dll,
dc5.dll, and nsupdate.dll. Anybody know what these are and how to get rid
of them?

That is the Recycle Bin. If you right click on it on the desktop and
Empty Bin that should take care of the matter. If you have more than
one user that logs on, you will need to do it from each of the accounts

You will probably find that Norton has put them into the Quarantine that is
built into NAV. Bring up NAV and have a look in the Quarantine folder and
tell it to empty that.

Hope that helps
