Something has REALLY gone wrong for at least 2 weeks and I
hope one of you wonderful people can help. Here is the
problem: When I delete files then check the recycle bin it
shows "nothing" so that if I want to restore a file I am
unable to find it; however if I check in unerase in Norton
Protected files I find 'some' of the files I have just
deleted . I think I have had something change the registry
values.
Also, I would like to know when in regedit is it SAFE to
delete keys
that seem to be duplicates,except one/more is/are a "later
version" e.g.
xxxxx6.Client CLSID xxxx Cur Ver xxxx6.Client1
and below it is:
xxxxx6.Clinet CLSID xxxx
Is it okay to delete the first set of keys and just keep
the later version? And if so, do I need to move /copy some
info from the previous version so all info is in the 'new
key'? It seems a person (daring at that) should be able to
do this so that it reduces the size of the registry.
To the Problem....
My recycler and Norton Protected Recycle Bin seem
to be "switched". How do I get them back where they belong?
Norton Protected recycle bin WITH JUST DELETED
FILES shows [contains 25 files]
when viewing standard recycle bin before reversion
[contents in right window are: picture of NPR icon and

Ran print folder on recycler folder and got the following:

S-1-5-1..........

Items haven't been going to the recycle bin, as far as I
can tell.
15-Sep-04 thru 30th Sep
I have deleted some items and the following shows when
I tried to view what was removed:
"There are no items in the Recycle Bin ", but when I check
properties says 310Mb,404 files,5 folders. [with show
hidden files, etc and send to recycle bin checked} and
Norton Protected Recycle Bin shows: "There are no
items in the recycle bin."; yet when I click to empty it
says have 1500 total files and"You have 1374 protected files"

I hope the following makes sense as I can't keep it in the
format
alignment I wanted (as near as how it lookes in reg).
