Recently my recycle bin doesn't show what is in it. The
desktop icon shows that something is in it but I can't
find out what it is.

Right click on recycle bin and click open or explore....you should be able
to see what is in it..

I'm having the same problem. I can get the thing OPEN, but it looks empty,
and the status bar on the bottome says there are 0 items in it. Just to test
it, I made some new objects and draged them to the recylce bin. They
disapeared. Still claims nothing is in it. And yet, if I select "empty
recycle bin", it says "delete these 25 items?

This worked for me.
==========================
Files not being listed in the Recycle Bin seem to be related to a corrupt
info2 file. To correct the issue (Fat32):

Go to Start/Run and type in CMD:

Type CD \RECYCLED, and then press ENTER.
Type ATTRIB -r -s -h info2, and then press ENTER.
Type DEL INFO2, and then press ENTER.

NOTE: This deletes the damaged INFO2 file. Windows will recreate this file
as needed, automatically.

hmmmm, well, THIS is a problem. The recycle bin shows up on my desktop. I
can open it. And yet, I can't seem to locate it anywhere on my hard drive.
Now I"m worried I have a virus, or some kind of scumware. The hunt begins...

Norton Antivirus finds nothing. Spysweaper finds nothing. And yet, somehow,
my recycle bin is nowhere to be found on my hard drive. what the heck is
going on?!

It should be located on each drive like: C:\Recycled (or Recycle bin) or on
D:\
I don't know why but mine is called recycled. If you have Norton protection
on it might be called something else. Make sure you can see all files +
folders and no extensions are hidden in your folder options.

Yea, I know. I've seen it before, but it's not there anymore. To be sure, I
went into folder options and made sure that "show all files and folders" was
selected, and then I used search, and ran a searcy for "rec*.*". The only
things that came up were the wav files that play when you empty it.

I'd be tempted to wipe my drive and re-install windows, but I've got so much
data on my HD that it is a MAJOR chore to back everything up. I GOTTA get a
secondary HD or a DVD rom drive one of these days.

Keeps getting weirder. I emptied the recycle bin, and now everything shows
up just fine. It's great the problem is fixed, but it still leaves me
wondering what on earth happened initially.
