Not if you have an item on the desktop named explorer. I would know I
tried your thing and it opened the folder named explorer. I renamed the
folder and it open the recycle bin.

{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} is the namespace for Recycle Bin.
Whoever you are, whatever version of XP you have, the command opens Recycle
bin.

Not necessarily. I have a folder on my desktop named "explorer". When
I enter that command, it opens that folder. You always have to check that
any command you run does not have the same name as a desktop item because
the desktop is like the first item in the path.

Or, click start | run | type "explorer
::{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"
This opens the Recycle Bin.

Hi,
I hid my Recycle Bin by editing the registry. Now, I know
I have many files in it, but I can't figure out how to
open it and view those files. Please help me get it back
and delete the files in it, and still have it not appear
on my Desktop. (Windows XP) Thank you,
Chris
