Ron

I install windows xp and I cannot find the recycle bin.
I have tried arranging by name etc but it does not
appear. I'm wondering if it is loaded and how I could
check that out

All you have to do is just right-click the desktop and then go to the
"Wallpaper" tab and see if all the check boxes are checked (including
Recycle Bin).

Junior;

I don't have a Wallpaper tab.
Am I doing this right??

Right click Desktop | Properties | Desktop tab | Customize Desktop button |
Desktop icons
My Documents
My Computer
My Network Places
Internet Explorer

Hi Ron!.

To Restore Icons to the Desktop pls. do following steps

Click Start -> run-> type regedit in the box
Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe or Regedt32.exe).
Select the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key.
Navigate to following location under the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key:
Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\
NameSpac
Select NameSpace.
On the Registry menu, click Import Registry File, and type
the path to the location of the registry file that was
exported in the preceding procedure.
Select the file name to which the registry key was saved,
click Open, and then click OK.
Quit Registry Editor, log off, and then log back on to the
computer.

Might help.
