My bin holds 1500 items. My question is where do the files that are in the bin and you haven't permanently deleted go...as the bin fills up do the older items automatically get deleted and make room for new files...and can you retrieve those that were automatically deleted to make room for the new items.

Ilene, just rt click in Recycle Bin and select Properties. You can set the
% of drive space you want to allot.

From Help and Support, Recycle Bin Overview:

Items in the Recycle Bin remain there until you decide to permanently delete them from your computer. These items still take up hard disk space and can be undeleted or restored back to their original location. When it fills up, Windows automatically cleans out enough space in the Recycle Bin to accommodate the most recently deleted files and folders.

Once the file is deleted from the Recycle Bin, either by you, or the operating system, you can only recover it with 3rd party software.
