Recycle Bin

I used to have a Recycle Bin icon on my desktop but I've noticed it is no
longer there and I have not been able to locate the Recycle Bin on my
computer. Any suggestions on how to find it??

Windows XP has a really great function called System Restore.
It can reverse any change(bad of good) you did to your system so use it.

Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore

Restore your system to a state some days before the problem started.It is
not necessary to be exact date but just before the problem started! :-)

Right click a blank spot on the desktop and choose Properties | Desktop |
Customize Desktop | Advanced and place a checkmark for those items you want.
 
Right click Desktop | Arrange Icons By | Show Desktop Icons
