Running Windows XP Home Edition w/all current updates, I
have a 173,972kb folder w/files which used to be a user's
profile that will not empty from Recycle Bin. I get error
titled "Error Deleting File or Folder" with the
text "Cannot delete immages[1]: Cannot find the specified
file. Make sure you specify the correct path and file
name."
Note: Hostname has changed in the past and I had two
profiles for the same person and so deleted one. Other
massive file deletions like this went over without a hitch
and new files or folders sent to Recycle Bin empty with no
problem. I just lived with this for a long while, but
performance is so very slow now I am revisiting old
problems with new vigor. Logging on can take an hour now
and opening an empty text file can take 5 minutes. HD is
1/2 full. 374MB RAM. HP Pavilion xt938. McAfee VirusScan
Online instl'd.
Any Ideas?
