Sally,

Were these files on your local harddisk or a network drive before you
deleted them?
Recycle bin does not handle network mapped drive file deletion.
Have you also checked to ensure you are using the recycle bin (you can turn
it off)

Hi Mike, yes they were on my local hard drive, when i click on the RB Icon
on my desktop it takes me to the RB so i presume that it is on, i wouldn't
know where to turn it off anyway lol, perhaps you can direct me to where you
turn it on/off to make sure i didn't screw it up somewhere along the line,
thanks!

Sally,

Hmm - very odd indeed.
They should be there - unless as you did the delete you held down SHIFT
while you did the delete. This causes the file to be immediately deleted
and does not send it to the RB.

To change the RB setting such as turn it off right click on the RB and
select Properties

Well!! I checked what you said in properties and that was as it should be,
just went back and deleted another file to the RB went and checked and as if
by magic it was there!! I have no idea what happened or why things are back
to normal, but would like to thank you for your help and quick responses,
best wishes to you :-)

Sally,

Your very welcome.

You may also may wish to look into performing regular backups of your PC
and/or the use of a Server to hold a copy of your valuable data (offline
folder) etc.
