Hello:

I have secondary DNS doing Internet resolution for my
internal clients. However, evry now and then the DNS
server just stop doing recursive queries. After we re-
start the server it seems to start working again. This
issue if driving me crazy.

Anyone has any idea of what is going on??

Thank you very much in advance

When this happens can you manual queries from the command
line using this machine and a tool like NSLookup etc.....

If you can, then start working your way down from the Internet
root and determine that you can reach each intermediate step.

You seem to indicate that merely restarting the DNS server fixes
it -- does this work if you only restart the SERVICE or must you
restart the machine? (In the time it takes most machines to boot,
many things can change.)

Do you have any forwarders listed on this service or does it perform
the actual recursion of the Internet directly? (The former might actually
be a better design but it won't directly fix your problem.)
