recurring meeting not on my calender

I have created a recurring meeting, no problem there, but i have since delted
the meeting from my calender but everyone on the invite list still sees the
meeting in their calender

Not sure about this but did cancellation notices get sent out?

it looks like the other invitees did not get the cancellaton notice
