Been a while since I bought a new HD but I'm getting sick of deleting or
uninstalling things to make room. Looking for something around 160GB (seems
to be the sweetspot for capacity vs price). Anyone advise me on the better
makes nowadays? Also perhaps point me to a good review site. I am
currently googling but be interested in your views. Many thanks, Shaun

Seagate makes a quiet and reliable HD with a 5 year warranty.

Are you SURE that your motherboard's BIOS can recognize harddrives greater
than 137 GB in size? Only the newer ones can.

But if really get serious:
WDxxxxJB OR
Maxtor DiamondMax+9
The best drives out there.

In the past few months, have had 2 x WD 160GB drives and 3 x Maxtors in
for data recovery. Also had a couple of Samsung 160GB drives.

Have not had a **single** Seagate in.

I wouldn't purchase WD or Maxtors for data storage. Especially now that
Seagate are offering 5 year warranties.

(I am talking only about recent-model drives - less than 12 months old.)
