Is there anyway to recreate the results of the security
wizard report. My MDW file is not corrupt and I have
maintained backups, but the more I read on the subject it
appears that I should have a hardcopy of the SIDs and WID
information. While everything still works and I have full
access is there a way to print out this information?

Thanks.

You need to record:

for the workgroup as a whole:
- Company name (*)
- Organization name (*)
- Workgroup ID (WID)
(*) or whatever those two fields are called -
I don't have Access here to check

for each user in the workgroup:
- user name;
- Personal ID (PID).

SIDs are something different again. Access (really, Jet) creates the SIDs
from other information above. You are probably confusing SIDs with PIDs.

As for retrieving these values from an existing workgroup file, you can do
that >if< you understand the encryption schemes that are used to protect the
content of the workgroup files, and also know the relevant decryption keys.
So the answer is - in theory, Yes; in practice (for most users), No.

So it is always best to write it all down, as soon as you create the file.

When the report is first available to you, you are given warnings about not
printing it. You also have the opportunity to save it as a separate file.
If you said no to all that than no you can't. If it really troubles you,
you could always unsecure the database, start over, and this time print the
report.
