I have a Hewlett Packard desktop PC with Windows 98SE
operating system. I have considered up-grading to XP Home
Edition. My question is >
Does XP Home Edition come with Application and System
recovery CD's ( 2 ) like I received with my HP computer,
or would the CD's I already have for Windows 98 SE
operating system work as well with W-XP ?
I have used it twice, and I find it re-assuring to
have it, in case I foul-up again, and it could happen again
although I have become more careful lately.

Your current cds that you have that came with the
computer will work. What you are buying is just a
windows cd and key. So if you make a mistake or
something goes wrong you can use the recovery cds that
came with your computer. OR if you choose the option to
keep your previous operating system files (For roll
back) you can uninstall xp from add/remove programs

--But heck what do I know I'm just 15--

Hi,

No, the disks you have are specific to your HP machine, the WinXP upgrade
disk is a full operating system upgrade. It will essentially replace the
system restore disk. The System Restore disk you currently have contains an
image of the system as it was when you purchased it. The application
recovery disk you have contains the original version of the programs
supplied with your computer, not all of these may function under WinXP.
