recovery of private file - PLEASE HELP!

My XP installation is a goner. It won't boot, not even
when I use safe mode. (it crashes on the boot screen).
Even the recovery console will not let me get in to fix
anything. I already plan on reinstalling windows on
another HD, but I have all sorts of files that I'd rather
not lose that are located in my "My Documents" folder. Of
course, since my profile has its files made private, I
can't just access them from this new install of Windows
XP.

If anyone could help me with either a way to get windows
to boot so that I can move these files to the root
directory to copy them, or knows a way to retrieve these
files, I'd greatly appreciate the assistance.

Running: Windows XP Pro SP1

login as administrator and then you can 'take ownership' of the old files on
the other hd... unless of course you mean 'encrypted' and not just 'private'
because they belonged to a user that is now defunct with the old profile.
